Raw banana dry curry | Vazhakkai curry-Kerala & TamilNadu style

Ingredients
- Raw banana [Vazhakkai, Plantain, Kacha kela] - 1
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
- Fenugreek – ½ tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – ½ tbsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Green chilli – 1 [chopped]
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
Method
- Dry roast fenugreek & coriander seeds separately, let it cool & grind to fine powder.
- In a pressure cooker add raw banana, turmeric powder, 1 tsp oil, salt & water, cover lid cook for 2 whistles.
- Peel off the skin, let it cool & cut into cubes.
- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add Bengal gram, urad dal & curry leaves sauté.
- Add green chilli, fenugreek powder & turmeric powder sauté.
- Add chopped raw banana, salt & coriander powder sauté till crisp.
- Then cut off heat serve hot with rice
