Ingredients

  • Karamani [Cowpea, black eyed pea] – 1 cup
  • Onion – 1 [finely chopped]
  • Green chilli - 1 [finely chopped]
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Fennel seeds- 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Curry leaves – 3 springs [finely chopped]
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Preparation

  • Soak cowpea for 8 hours. Then drain water.
  • In a mixie jar, Add cumin, coriander,green chilli, curry leaves, ginger & garlic coarsely grind.
  • Then add cowpea & salt in a mixer jar finely grind
  • Transfer batter to a bowl, add onion mix well & make ball shape or oval shape using spoon then deep fry till golden brown & crisp in medium hot oil.
  • Serve hot with chutney, green chilli, or tomato sauce.
