Ingredients

  • Green chana[Green chickpeas, Hara Chana]- 1 cup
  • Coconut – ¼ cup [grated]
  • Green chilli – 1 [sliced]
  • Dry red chilli -1
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Garlic - 2 coves [finely chopped, dont add garlic during navrathri festival]
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  • Wash and soak green chickpeas overnight. Then drain water.
  • Boil green chana in cooker for 4 whistles.
  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Then add curry leaves, garlic, green chilli & dry red chilli saute.
  • Add coconut & red chilli powder mix well. Then add boiled chickpeas and salt mix well.
  • Then add coriander leaves & remaining coconut mix well. Cut off heat. Serve hot with rice or tea.
