Green Gram Rice [ Pasippayaru Satham ] By

Ingredients

  • Basmati rice - 1 cup [ Boiled ]
  • Moong dal [Pachai payaru, matki dal]- ½  cup [ [Soaked and boiled]
  • Onion – 1[sliced]
  • Fried coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Green chilli -1 [sliced]
  • Ginger and garlic paste / Gigner Garlic grated  -1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring
  • Clove - 1
  • Bay leaf -1
  • Green cardamom -1
  • Turmeric powder  - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder  - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder  - 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice - ¼ tsp
  • Mint  - 2 to 6 leaves
  • Coriander leaves  - 3 to 4 leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil  - 3 tbsp
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp

Preparation

  • Heat oil and ghee in a pan then add cardamom, cloves, bay leaf and onion sauté till onion turns light brown.
  • Add green chilli, ginger and garlic paste sauté gently then add curry leaves sauté well.
  • Add boiled green gram, turmeric powder, red chilli powder mix well.
  • Add garam masala, and salt mix well till raw smell out.
  • Add boiled basmati rice and fried coconut mix well. Cut off heat and add chopped coriander leaves, mint and lemon juice mix well till no white rice remains. Serve hot.
