Ukkarai | Okkarai-chettinad special moong dal sweet recipe

Ingredients
- Moong dal[Pasiparuppu] - 1 cup
- Jaggery [Vellam]- 1 to ¾ cup
- Ghee - ½ cup
- Water - ½
- Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
- Cashew nuts - 5
- Pistachios - 2
- Borneo-Camphor (Pachai Karpooram) - size of mustard seed
Preparation
- Wash and soak moong dal for 2 hours then drain water & coarsely grind without water.
- Heat ghee in a pan add cashew nuts & pistachios roast then keep it aside.
- Heat pan add grated jaggery & water let it boil.
- Heat another pan add ghee & ground moong dal sauté well
- Then add melted jaggery mix well & let it thickens.
- Finally add cardamom powder, Pachai Karpooram & roasted nuts cut off heat.
- Serve hot or cold.
