Sri lankan coconut roti By

  • Wheat flour -1 cup
  • Onion – 1 [Finely chopped]
  • Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated]
  • Curry leaves, coriander leaves – 2 tbsp [Finely chopped]
  • Green chilli – 1 [Finely chopped]
  • Garlic – 1 [Finely chopped]
  • Ginger- ½ tbsp [Finely chopped]
  • Butter – 1 inch cube
  • Sugar a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp


  • Mix all ingredients together and make dough, cover it using white cotton cloth then leave it for 30 min.
  • Equally divide the dough and make small balls.
  • Sprinkle flour over the balls, flatten it, roll over and make roti as usual.
  • Serve hot with tomato gravy.


  • Add 1 tbsp of curd/ yogurt when making dough [for softness].
