Simple green gram curry | Pachai payaru kuzhambu

Ingredients
- Green gram [pachai payaru] – ½ cup
- Shallots [Sambar onion] -5
- Green chilli – 1 [sliced]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tbsp
- Urad dal and Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
Method
- Boil green gram in cooker for 4 whistles
- Heat pan with oil add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered add Bengal gram, urad dal and onion sauté till soft [translucent].
- Add green chilli and curry leaves.
- Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Then add boiled green gram mix well & let it boil then add salt and cut off heat. Serve hot with rice, puttu, idli
