How to make Aloo butter masala video
Ingredients
- Potato – 1 cup [peel then skin & cut into cubes]
- Onion – 1 [finely chopped]
- Ginger & garlic – 2 tbsp [grated]
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves - 3 springs [chopped]
- Tomato puree – 1 ½ cup
- Cashew nut paste – ½ cup
- Curd – 2 tbsp [fully whisked]
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Green cardamom - 3
- Bay leaves - 1
- Cloves - 3
- Cinnamon stick – ½
- Turmeric & Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
- Cumin, coriander & pepper powder – 1 ½ tbsp
- Garam masala powder – ½ tbsp
- Kasoori methi – 1 tbsp [crushed]
- Salt to taste
- Butter – 2 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
Method
- Parboil Boil potatoes.
- Heat Oil and butter in a pan, put cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, & green cardamom.
- Then add onion sauté till raw smell out. Add Ginger and garlic paste sauté.
- Add green chilli, curry leaves & parboiled potatoes sauté. Then add salt, coriander, cumin, pepper, turmeric & red chilli powder sauté well.
- Add tomato puree mix well & cook till raw smell out.
- Add cashew nut paste mix well. Then add garam masala powder & crushed kasoori methi. Then add curd / fresh cream mix well then cut off heat.
- Add chopped coriander leaves. Garnish with butter and serve hot with rice, chapati, naan, idly or dosa.

Wash, chop & peel off 5 potatoes
Chopped potato ready
Heat water, add potato cubes
Add salt , boil for 3 min
Drain water
Boil tomato for 5 min
Now its ready, cut off heat
Drain water
Peel off the skin
Put it in a mixie jar, grind to fine puree
Tomato puree ready, keep it aside
In a mixie jar, add onion, garlic, ginger,green chilli, coarsely grind
Ground mixture ready
Deep fry Potatoes
Now its ready
Remove it from oil
Heat oil, butter, cumin, green chilli, bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom
Add onion, garlic, green chilli & ginger
Add tomato puree
Add turmeric powder
Add red chilli powder
Add coriander powder, garam masala powder
Add salt
Add cashews, curd, grind to fine paste
Add cashew paste
Boil for 5 min
Add fried potatoes
Add kasoori methi
Add coriander leaves
Boil for 2 min
Pour into serving bowl
Serving hot with rice
In a bowl add basmathi rice, wash 2 to 3 times
Heat water, add soaked rice
Boil till soft
Now its ready
Drain extra water
Cover lid, leave it for 10 min
