Kongu nadu style peerkangai thakkali kuzhambu-How to make -step by step photos

Ingredients
- Peerkangai[Rideg gourd]- 2
- Onion - 1 [chopped]
- Garlic -2 cloves[mshed]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Green chilli - 1
- Tomato – 2
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1 tbsp
- Mustard, Corainder seeds & cumin seeds– 1 tbsp
- Asafoetida [hing] - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
Preparation
- Wash and peel off hard skin then chop finely.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan add mustard, coriander and cumin seeds.
- Once it’s spluttered add bengal gram, urad dal & hing fry till light brown
- Add curry leaves, green chilli saute
- Add onion saute till soft
- Add tomato, salt, red chilli powder ,turmeric powder & coriander powder saute till soft.
- Add ridge gourd, saute for 3 min.
- Add water cook till soft.
- Once its ready, cut off heat & serve hot with rice

Ridge gourd plant
Peel off and wash
Chop finely
Chopped ridge gourd ready
Heat 2 tbsp oil, mustard, cumin, coriander, urad dal, chana dal, green chilli, garlic, onion, curry leaves
Add hing
Add red chilli powder, turmeric and coriander powder ssaute for 2 min
Add tomato saute till soft
Add salt
Add ridge gourd
Saute for 3 min
Add water and salt let it boil till soft
Cover lid and cook for 5 to 7 min
Now its ready, cut off heat
