Kadalai ellu urundai is simple and instant snack in kongunadu regions. This no fail sweet & perfect for winter season. No white sugar required.
Ingredients
- Peanut [Nilakadalai, moong phali] – 1/2 cup
- Sesame - 1/2 cup
- Jaggery - 1 cup
- Water –3 tbsp
- Ghee – 3 tbsp
- Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Method
- Grease the tray with ghee.
- Dry roast peanut till crisp, let it cool then peel off the skin
- Roast sesame seeds until it splutters
- Heat another pan add jaggery and water, let it boil till hard ball consistency
- Then add ground peanut mixture, cut off heat, mix well
- Then add cardamom powder
- Transfer this to ghee greased tray. Spread evenly.
- Leave it for 2 min make balls immedaitely
- Put this in an airtight container. Use it for 7 days
