Bhindi tomato curry By

Ingredients

  • Bhindi [Ladies finger, Okra, vendakkai] – 1 cup [chopped]
  • Tomato -2 [chopped]
  • Garlic – 2 cloves [mashed]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – ½ tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tbsp
  • Garam masaa powder – ½ tbsp
  • Coriander powder – ½ tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as required

Method

  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add Bengal gram, urad dal & cumin seeds.
  • Add garlic sauté then add tomato sauté till soft.
  • Add okra, salt, turmeric & red chilli powder sauté. Then sprinkle water & sauté till stickiness out.
  • Add garam masala & coriander powder mix well & leave it for 2 min. Then cut off heat & serve hot with rice.
