2 Simple dal fry recipes-Step by step photos & Video

Ingredients
- Toor dal - 1 cup
- Drumstick leaves - 1 cup
- Tomato - 3
- Onion - 2
- Green chilli - 4
- Ginger & Garlic -2 tbsp
- Asafoetida - 1 tsp
- Turmeric - 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder - 2 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
- Roasted cumin powder - 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 3 springs
- Oil - 4 tbsp
- Water as needed
For seasoning
- Cmin seeds -1 tbsp
- Asafoetida - 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 2 tbsp
- Oil/ghee -2 tbsp
Preparation
- Wash toor dal, drumstick leaves
- Heat pressure cook add toor dal, tomato, turmeric powder & enough water cover it & cook for 4 whistles.
- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafetida & let it splutter
- Add onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli, & curry leaves sauté.
- Add tomato, turmeric powder,coriander pwoder, roasted cumin powder & red chilli powder sauté till soft
- Aadd boiled toor dal and salt mix well & let it boil.
- When boiling, heat 2 tbsp ghee in another pan, add cumin, hing ,red chilli powder cut off heat.
- Add seasoning to dal mixture
- Add chopped coriander leaves & serve hot with rice.
- For drumstick same procedure add drumstick leaves after seasoning
