Peanut chikki / Kadalai mittai is instant, crispy, 2 ingredient 90's kids or 80's kids favorite healthy snack. No consistency required. How to make perfect shape and crispy chikki without ghee? In kongu nadu regions [Erode, tirupur, coimbatore & salem] jaggery[Vellam in tamil, gur in hindi] is used to make kadalai mittai. Kovil patti kadalai mittai is so famous all over the world. My mom & my grandma always making chikki, laddu, jangiri, burfi, payasam with only jaggery [No sugar]. I am going to upload jaggery peanut chikki video soon. But this is no fail snack for beginners. No preservative added. Please replace chocolates with peanut chikki
Ingredients
- Peanut [Nilakadalai, moong phali] – 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Water – 3 tbsp
- Ghee – 1 tbsp
Method
- Grease the tray with ghee.
- Dry roast peanut till crisp, let it cool then peel off the skin
- Put it in a mixie jar coarsely grind.
- Heat pan add sugar & 3 tbsp water, let it caramalize
- Add roasted ground peanut, stir well for 50 sec then cut off heat
- Transfer this to mixture into ghee greased tray / chapathi making stone. Spread evenly.
- Leave it for 2 min then cut in to desired shapes then let it cool for another 5 min
- Once its ready,Put this in an airtight container use within 1 month
