Ingredients
- Maida or Wheat flour –1 cup
- Curd - 1/2 cup
- Baking soda / Powder -1/2 tsp
- Powdered sugar - 1/4 cup
- Ghee - 3 tbsp
- Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
- Water as required
- Oil for deep frying
For Sugar syrup
- Sugar - 3/4 cup
- Water as required
- Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Preparation Method
- In a bowl add maida, baking soda, ghee, powdered sugar, curd &water mix well, make soft sticky mixture.
- Cover it & leave it for 30 min.
- Heat sugar, cardamom powder & water, let it boil for 8 min[Like gulab jmaun syrup] or you can boil till 1 string consistency.
- Heat oil in a pan, make small balls out of the mixture, drop it in medium hot oil, deep fry till golden brown
- Drain on absorbent paper then put it in sugar syrup & soak it for 5 min.
- Then serve with tea or coffee
How to make Paal bun at home -Step by step photos
Add sugar in a mixie jar
Add cardamom poda, grind to fine powder
Powdered sugar is ready
In a bowl add maida / wheat flour
Add sugar
Add ghee
Add bakind soda
Add curd & water, mix well
Make sticky dough
Cover it & leave it for 30 min
For sugar syrup:- Add sugar
Add water
Mix well, let it boil for 8 min
Now its ready, cut off heat
Take small lemon size dough, shape balls
Drop it in medium hot oil, deep fry till golden brown
NOw its ready, remove it from oil
Put it in sugar syrup, soak it for 5 min
Soft and crispy paal bun ready, serve hot
