Orange swirl cake-No oven-Pressure cooker method-How to make-Step by step photos

Orange swirl cake is simple, homemade and patterned fascinated swirled spongy cake for kids. Fresh orange juice gives fragrant orange flavour. Chocolate layer gives bright swirls inside yellow cake. You can make any pattern with colours. For pink flavour add fresh strawberry puree/frozen /rose syrup. For purple flavour add red cabbage/ butterfly pea/bluberry/ purple sweet potato. For rich red colour add roasted beetroot. For green colour use matcha green tea powder, or spinach. You can add walnuts, almonds, flaxseeds, coconut or oats for different flavour.
Orange swirl cake for christmas
Dry Ingredients
- All purpose flour / Wheat flour - 1.5 cup
- Cocoa powder- 1/4 cup
- Salt- 1/4 tsp
- Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- Baking soda - 1 tsp
- Sugar - 1 cup
Wet Ingredients
- Milk- 250 ml
- Egg- 1
- Melted butter- 1/2 cup
- Coconut oil- 1/4 cup
- Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
- Orange juice - 1/2 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Preparation
- Take 5 littre pressure cooker.
- Remove gasket & whistle from the pressure cooker lid.
- Then place grid.
- Preheat pressure cooker for 5 to 10 min on medium flame.
- In a bowl All purpose flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda mix well.
- In a bowl add melted butter, milk, coconut oil, egg, vanilla essence, orange juice, turmeric powder & sugar mix well.
- Add wet ingredient to the dry mixture mix well
- Add milk to adjust the consistency.
- Divide the mixture into two bowls
- Add cocoa powder in another bowl mix well.
- Grease baking tin with butter and sprinkle flour.
- Pour 1 ladle full of plain orange batter into baking tray
- Add chocolate batter then again plain orange cake batter one by one
- Place it on pressure cooker grind.
- Close lid & bake it for 45 to 50 min on low to medium flame.
- Once its ready carefully remove baking tray then un-mould & let it cool.
- Slice and serve with jam/butter.
Note
- Before baking in pressure cooker remove gasket & whistle.
- You can replace milk with coconut milk, almond milk or oats milk
- If you dont like egg you can add melted dark chocolate, curd, buttermilk, banana or avocado
- For white molten lava cake you can skip cocoa powder
- For red velvet lava cake add roasted beet puree.
- For saffron lava cake add hot water soaked saffron.

Grease tray with butter then sprinkle flour coat well
In a bowl add all purpose flour & salt
Add baking powder
Add baking soda
Heat milk and butter
Melt, then cut off heat
Add sugar
Add egg
Add vanilla essence
Take some fresh orange juice & add turmeric powder
Strain & add without orange seeds
Mix well
Pour wet ingredients into dry mixture
Mix well without lumps[Dont overmix]
Batter ready
Add coconut oil,mix well. Then Divide the batter into two
Add cocoa powder , mix well
Two batter ready
Pour two batter one by one
Repeat the layers
Now its ready
Place it in a pre-heated pressure cooker
Cover lid[No gasket, No whistle], cook it for 45 min to 50 min-Low flame
After 45 min
Check it with stick
It comes out clean, so its cooked perfectly
Remove it from pressure cooker
Let it cool
Slice & serve with butter/jam
