Ingredients

  • Mochakottai [Field beans, avarekalu] - 1 cup [fresh]
  • Green peas – ¼ cup [fresh]
  • Coconut – ¼ cup
  • Onion – 1 [sliced, For Navrathri-Dont add]
  • Garlic - 2 cloves[mashed, For Navrathri-Dont add]]
  • Green chilli – 1 [sliced]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Tumeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Preparation

  • Peel off the field beans & green peas skin. Then boil till soft.
  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds.
  • Once it’s spluttered add onion & garlic sauté till soft.
  • Add green chilli and curry leaves.
  • Add coconut, turmeric, & red chillli powder mix well.
  • Add boiled field beans & green peas and salt mix well.
  • Finally add coconut, coriander leaves mix well then cut off heat
  • Then serve hot with rice
