Ingredients

  • Ragi semiya – ½ cup
  • White semiya – ½ cup
  • Onion – 1 [sliced]
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [chopped]
  • Green chilli – 1 [slit]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Method

  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Add Bengal gram, urad dal and add chopped onion sauté well.
  • Add ginger, green chilli, & curry leaves sauté gently.
  • Add 1 ½ cup of water and salt mix well and bring it to boil.
  • Then add semiya & mix well. Cover it and cook for a min. Sprinkle coriander leaves & lemon juice mix well. Cover with lid, Cut off heat & leave it for 4 min.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney.

Tip

  • You can add roasted or fried nuts, vegetables, beans, green peas etc.
