Ingredients

  • Bottle gourd [Lauki, sorakkai]- 1
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  • Almond, pistachio - 2 tbsp
  • Ghee - 6 tbsp

Preparation

  • Peel off the bottlegourd skin, grate
  • boil jaggery with equal amount of water for 2 min
  • Heat 3 tbsp ghee in a pan add lauki saute for 3 to 5 min or until raw smell out
  • Add jaggery syrup or sugar cook until thick
  • You can add khoya or milk powder or corn flour in this stage for thickness and extra flavor
  • Add cardamom, remaining ghee, almond, pista,
  • Garnish with dry fruits server cold / warm / hot

Note

  • You can mix water with milk in equal proportion and prepare

Tip

  • For Instant lauki halwa use condensed milk and khoya, Khoa.
