Avarakkai (Broad Beans) Poriyal

Ingredients
- Avarakkai(Broad Beans) - 2 cup [chopped]
- Coconut Grated - ¼ cup
- Onion – 1 [finely chopped]
- Curry Leaves - 1 spring
- Green chilli - 1
- Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder - ½ tsp
- Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
- Bengal gram - ½ tbsp
- Urad dal - ½ tbsp
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Salt to taste
Preparation
- Heat oil in a pan. Put mustard seeds, when mustard seeds crackled add bengal gram, urad dal and chopped onion sauté well. When onion turns light brown add curry leaves, green chilli sauté gently
- Add chopped avarakkai(Broad Beans) sauté gently and then pour water. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt mix well. Once avaraikkai(Broad Beans) is cooked add grated coconut. Leave it for 2 min.
- Add cashew nut powder. Turn off if moisture is out from avaraikai
- Serve hot with rice
Note
- Garam masala can be added for another variant
