Ingredients

  • Samak rice [Samai arisi] – 2 cup
  • Toor dal [Thuvaram paruppu] – ½ cup
  • Bengal gram [kadalai paruppu,chana dal]– ½ cup
  • Dry red chilli – 2 to 3
  • Curry leaves - 2 spring [chopped]
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  • Coconut – 3 tbsp [grated]
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil – 3 tbsp

Method

  • Wash and soak toor dal, Bengal gram and samai rice overnight.
  • Then drain water and coarsely grind with ¼ cup of water, dry red chilli, garlic, cumin seeds.
  • Then add curry leaves, salt & coconut mix well.
  • Heat iron dosa tawa then pour batter & spread like a usual dosa shape.
  • Then pour 1 tbsp of oil around the adai, cover lid & cook both sides for about 3 min.
  • Once samai adai is ready serve hot with coconut chutney, idli podi, or grated jaggery.
