Ingredients

  • Chilli [Milagai, Mirchi]- 1
  • Besan [gram flour, kadalai maavu] – 1 cup
  • Rice flour – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
  • Asafetida[Hing]- ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water - 3/4 cup
  • Oil – ¼ ltr [for frying]

Preparation Method

  • Slit chilli lengthwise then remove seeds. Then cut into thin stripes.
  • In a boowl add gram flour, rice flour, salt, asafetida, red chilli & turmeric powder mix well.
  • Then add water mix well & make batter without lumps
  • Heat oil in a pan, dip chillis in the prepared batter, drop it in oil, deep fry till crisp & golden brown both sides on medium hot oil
  • Once its ready remove from oil, drain on absorbent paper & serve hot with tea or coffee.
