Horse gram is one of the medicinal lentils. Horse gram helps control cough it is fat burner so it helps weight loss. Horse gram with Garlic, Red chilli, hing, Urad dal, curry leaves make this recipe so aromatic, tastier and healthy. It very well goes with Idli & rice

Ingredients

  • Kollu[Horse gram] - 1 cup
  • Chana dal - 2 tbsp
  • Urad dal - 2 tbsp
  • Garlic - 5 [chopped]
  • Dry red chilli - 5
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Asafoetida [Hing] - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves[karuveppilai] - 2 springs
  • Oil - 1 1/2 tbsp [optional]

Preparation

  • Wash & Dry out horse gram in sun light for 1 hour.
  • Heat pan add horse gram, pour 1 tbsp oil roast till golden brown.
  • Then roast chana dal, urad dal, dry red chilli, curry leaves, and garlic, one by one.
  • In the same pan add roasted ingredients, asafotida, sea salt roast for 2 min then let it cool.
  • In a mixer jar put all roasted ingredients grind to fine powder
  • Then let it cool & store in an airtight container use within one month.
  • Serve with idli, dosa & rice
  • Serving: - Serve with sesame oil, ghee or coconut oil.
