Ingredients

  • Spinach[Palak, pasalai keerai]– 1 cup
  • Dry red chilli [Sigappu milagai, Vara Milagai]–1 or 2
  • Green chilli –1
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  • Coconut - 3 tbsp
  • Roasted gram – 2 tbsp
  • Bengal gram[Chana dal, kadalai paruppu] – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Water as needed
  • Salt to taste

For seasoning [optional]

  • Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring
  • Asafetida[Hing]- 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp

Method

  • Wash & chop spinach.
  • Heat oil in a pan add bengal gram, urad dal, garlic, dry red chilli, green chilli, coconut, & saute till light brown
  • Then add spinach, & salt roast for a min.
  • Put roasted ingredients, chutney gram in a mixer jar finely grind.
  • For seasoning:- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, asafetida & curry leaves
  • Add seasoned ingredients to the ground mixture mix well then serve with idli, uthappam & dosa.
