Carrot chutney -How to make-Step by step photos & Video

Ingredients
- Carrot – 1 & 1/2 cup
- Dry red chilli [Sigappu milagai, Vara Milagai]–1 or 2
- Garlic – 3 cloves
- Coconut - 3 tbsp
- Tamarind – 1 inch piece
- Bengal gram[Chana dal, kadalai paruppu] – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Water as needed
- Salt to taste
For seasoning [optional]
- Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Oil - 1 tbsp
Method
- Heat oil in a pan add bengal gram, urad dal, garlic, dry red chilli, saute till light brown
- Then add carrot, coconut, tamarind & salt saute
- Put roasted ingredients in a mixer jar fine grind with 1/2 glass of water
- For seasoning:- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, & curry leaves
- Add seasoned ingredients to the ground mixture mix well then serve with idli, uthappam & dosa.

Heat oil, add chana dal
Add urad dal
Add garlic
Add dry red chilli, roast till light brown
Heat pan, add 2 tbsp oil, add carrot saute
Add coconut
Add tamarind saute for 2 min
Add salt
Put it in a mixer jar
Add water, finely grind
Now its ready
For seasoning:-Add oil, mustard & curry leaves
Add seasoned ingredients
Carrot chutney ready, serve with idli, dosa,uthappam or rice
