One pot green gram appala kulambu-How to make step by step photos

Ingredients
- Green gram – 1/4 cup
- Appalam[papad] - 2
- Tomato – 1 [chopped]
- Onion - 1
- Garlic – 3 cloves
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds– ½ tbsp
- Coriander seeds– ½ tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
Method
- Wash toor dal.
- Heat pressure cooker add toor dal, tomato, onion, green chilli, garlic, turmeric, red chilli powder, asafoetida, gingelly oil cover lid & cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
- Heat pan with oil then add mustard seeds.
- Add dry red chilli, curry leaves, asafoetida, fenugreek seeds powder.
- Add pressure cooked toor dal mixture, let it boil.
- Add coriander, cumin & pepper powder mix well
- Cut off heat & sprinkle coriander leaves, serve hot with rice, idli or dosa.
How to make One pot green gram appala kulambu -Step by step photos
Dry roast green gram, then wash
Add onion, tomato
Add garlic, turmeric & red chilli powder
Add gren chilli, cumin, coriander seeds, cover lid, cook for 4 whistles
After 4 whistles, mash well
Heat pressure cooker add toor dal, tomato, garlic, turmeric, green chilli, gingelly oil
Prepare seasoning- Oil, mustard, curry leaves, hing
Add seasoned ingredients
Roast appalam
Now its ready, remove it from heat
Add coriander & crushed appalam
