Coriander sago upma


Cuisine Style: South India | Cooking Time: 10 minutes | To Serve: 2 | Take with: Chutney, Fried Egg | Type: Breakfast or Dinner

Ingredients

  • Sago [big] – 1 cup
  • Onion -1 [finely chopped]
  • Green chilli – ½ [chopped]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

For Paste

  • Coriander leaves – 1 cup [washed]
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Water as needed
  • Put all ingredients in a mixer jar. Grind well.

Method

  • Wash & Soak sago over night. Then drain water.
  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once its spluttered add Bengal gram, urad dal and onion sauté till onion turns soft.
  • Then add green chilli, ginger and curry leaves. Then add coriander paste, sago and salt mix well.
  • Once sago cooked add lemon juice mix well. Cut off heat then sprinkle sev serve hot.
