Beetroot Tikki

Ingredients

  • Beetroot grated - 1 cup
  • Breadcrumbs - ½ cup
  • Grated almond, cashew nut – 2 tbsp
  • Onion [finely chopped] – ½
  • Ginger and garlic [grated] – 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves [chopped] – 2 tbsp
  • Pudina [mint] chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Parsley chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice – ½ tbsp
  • Corn flour – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 4 tbsp
  • Sugar a pinch

Preparation

  • Heat pan with oil add chopped onion & sauté well till golden brown, then add ginger and garlic & sauté.
  • Add grated beetroot, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, corn flour and salt & mix well.
  • Add breadcrumbs and garam masala & mix well turn off flame. Then add chopped parsley, coriander leaves, pudina, sugar and lemon juice mix well. Leave it to cool.
  • Divide the dough in to equal portions of balls, and then make circle shape (tikki) from each ball then shallow fry all tikki. Serve hot with burger-bread / Tikki with mint chutney.
