Green gram and potato sundal

Ingredients

  • Green gram [Pachai payaru] – 1 cup
  • Potato – 1
  • Coconut – ¼ cup [grated]
  • Onion – 1 [sliced]
  • Green chilli – 1 [sliced]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – ½ tbsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tbsp
  • Bengal gram – ½ tbsp
  • Urad dal – ½ tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  • Dry roast green gram & wash. Then boil potato and green gram separately. Then peel the skin of potato & cut in to 1 inch cubes.
  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. When its spluttering add Bengal gram, urad dal and onion sauté till soft.
  • Add green chilli & coconut sauté gently. Then add curry leaves, redchilli powder and coriander powder mix well. Then add boiled potato and salt mix well. Then add boiled green gram mix well.
  • Add coconut, coriander leaves & lemon juice mix well then cut off heat. Serve hot with rice
