Ingredients

  • Whole wheat -1 cup
  • Ghee [melted butter] – ¼ cup
  • Milk-1 cup
  • Sugar- ¾ cup
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
  • Almond-5
  • Cashew Nut-4
  • Saffron - few

Preparation

  • Wash & soak whole wheat overnight. Then grind well with water & extract wheat milk.
  • In a wide pan take 1 tbsp of ghee and roast (light brown) almonds, cashew nuts & chop, keep it aside.
  • In the same pan add ghee & pour wheat milk & stir well.
  • Then pour milk & stir well for 25 min (or till the milk dries up) minutes in low to medium flame.
  • Add sugar & stir well till the mixture blend together.
  • Then add cardamom powder, chopped nuts & saffron.
  • Add ghee & stir continuously. When mixture becomes thick & halwa consistency then cut off heat.
  • Garnish with dry fruits server cold / warm / hot
