Vegetable bansi rava upma

Ingredients

  • Bansi sooji rava[Yellow Bangalore rava] – 1 cup
  • Water – 2 cups
  • Carrot – 1 [finely chopped]
  • Capsicum – 2 tbsp [chopped]
  • Coconut – 3 tbsp [grated]
  • Onion – 1 [sliced]
  • Green chilli – 2
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 1 spring
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Preparation Method

  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds & let it splutter.
  • Then add Bengal gram and urad dal.
  • Add onion sauté till soft then add ginger, green chilli & carrot sauté.
  • Then add capsicum, curry leaves, turmeric & red chilli powder sauté till soft.
  • Add coconut mix well.
  • Add water and salt mix well & let it boil.
  • Then add bansi rava mix well & let it cook on medium flame.
  • Once moisture out sprinkle coriander leaves mix well & cut off heat.
  • Cover lid & leave it for 2 min. Then serve hot with chutney or pickle.
