Vendaikai Mandi (Green okra Gravy)

Ingredients
- Green okra -(20)
- Garlic flakes -10
- Onion -1
- Green Chillies -6
- Tamarind- 25gm
- Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
- Cup raw rice water -1/2
- Cup tamarind paste -1/2
- Water -1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
- Green Curry leaves
Preparation
- Soak the tamarind.
- Wash the okras and cut it into small pieces.
- Chop the onions and garlic.
- Slit green Chillies.
- Heat the oil and fry the okra pieces.
- Keep it aside.
- Heat the oil again and add mustard seeds and Curry leaves.
- Mix chopped onions, garlic and green chilies.
- Add fried okras and tamarind extract.
- Mix it well.
- Then add raw rice water then add salt.
- Boil till the mixture until it becomes thick
- Serve with rice.
Note

Instead of Okra potato can be used.
Tip
- Pappadam is the best side dish.
