Pazham (plantain) Pori

Ingredients

  • Ripe plantains-2
  • Bengal gram flour-1/4 cup
  • Maida (all purpose flour)-1/2 cup
  • Rice flour-1/2 cup
  • Sugar-3 tbs
  • Turmeric powder- a pinch
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Oil for deep fry

Preparation

  • Cut the plantain (Length wise) into thin pieces (Not too thin) and keep aside.
  • Take Bengal gram flour, Maida, Rice flour, Turmeric powder and sugar in a bowl mix water till the mixture turns to semi fluid state.
  • In a pan take oil for deep fry.
  • Dip plantain slice in the mixture (Make sure that the slice gets thick coating of mixture).
  • Deep fry till it turns to golden brown (Not too brown).
  • Serve hot with tea.

Note

  • This can be prepared without Bengal gram flour. (This is called traditional Pazham pori)

Tip

  • Pepper powder can be sprinkled after fry
