  • Solam (Proso millet) - 1 cup (100 g)
  • Rice -1 cup
  • Whole Urad Dal - 3/4 cup
  • fenugreek seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - 4 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp


  • Wash and Soak urad dal &fenu greek, Rice & solam over night separately
  • Grind them, mix well with salt then allow it for fermentation ( 8 hours aprx)
  • Make dosai as usual, you can add chopped onion or vegetable toping
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney, green mint, coriander chutney,  beetroot chutney or any kurma


  • Instead of rice completely solam can be used.
