Shell macaroni with sprouts & cheese

Ingredients

  • Shell macaroni or shell pasta – 1 ½ cup
  • Green peas and chickpeas sprouts – ½ cup
  • Tomato – 1 [finely chopped]
  • Tomato sauce – 4 tbsp
  • Onion – ½ [sliced]
  • Garlic – 3 cloves [chopped & mashed]
  • Green chilli – ½ [slit]
  • Freshly ground pepper powder or crushed peppercorns – 1 tbsp
  • Dried Basil leaves – 2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves [chopped] - 4 tbsp
  • Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
  • Cheese – 1 ½ to 2 tbsp [grated]
  • Sugar a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Preparation

  • Steam sprouts in an idli cooker till soft.
  • Heat pan add water and salt & let it boil then add shell macaroni till soft. Then drain water & keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan then add onion sauté till soft. Then add garlic and green chilli sauté gently. Then add tomato and dried basils mix well.
  • Add steamed chickpeas and green pea’s sprouts sauté gently. Then add boiled macaroni mix well.
  • Add tomato sauce, sugar, & pepper powder mix well & leave it for a min.
  • Add lemon juice mix well then cut off heat
  • Sprinkle cheese, coriander leaves & pepper powder then serve hot.
