Ingredients

  • Jackfruit seeds [Palakottai-in tamil, kathal-in Hindi] - 1 cup [fresh]
  • Garlic - 3 cloves [mashed]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Tumeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder- 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - 2 springs
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Asafetida[Hing]-½ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Preparation Method

  • Wash & boil jackfruit seeds with turmeric powder & red chilli powder till soft.
  • Peel off the jackfruit skin & cut into half
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds let it splutter then add garlic, curry leaves & asafetida.
  • Add red chilli powder & turmeric powder
  • Add jackfruit seeds, salt & garam masala powder saute for 3 min.
  • Finally add coriander leaves, mix well then cut off heat
  • Then serve hot with rice
