Palak makhana recipe

Ingredients

  • Phool makhana – 1 cup
  • Spinach – 1 bunch
  • Onion – ¼ cup [grated]
  • Ginger and garlic – 1 tbsp each [grated]
  • Green chilli – 1 [finely chopped]
  • Garam masla – ½ tbsp
  • Coriander powder– ½ tbsp
  • Cumin powder– ½ tbsp
  • Kasoori methi powder – ½ tbsp
  • Cumin seeds– ½ tbsp
  • Turmeric powder– ½ tbsp
  • Red chilli powder– ½ tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter – 1 inch cube
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Method

  • Boil spinach with small amount of water till soft. Then put it in a blender to make fine paste.
  • Heat oil and butter in a pan then add cumin seeds, onion sauté well till onion turns light brown then add ginger and garlic and green chilli sauté well.
  • Add fried phool makhna, turmeric powder and red chilli powder, mix well then add spinach paste & mix well.
  • Add cumin powder, coriander powder and garam masla powder mix well, cook it for 2 min then add kasoori methi powder mix well and cut off heat and serve hot with chapthi, roti or naan.
