How to make Nellikai rice video


Ingredients

  • Rice – 1 cup
  • Nellikai [Gooseberry, Amla] – 1 cup or ½ mango[grated]
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Green chilli – 1 [slit]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Asafetida a pinch
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed.

Preparation Method

  • Grate gooseberry keep it aside
  • Boil rice & spread over the plate to cool.
  • Heat pan, pour oil and put mustard seed & let it splutter.
    Then add Bengal gram, urad dal, green chilli, turmeric powder, asafetida and curry leaves sauté.
  • Add grated gooseberry sauté. Then add cooked rice, salt & mix well.
  • Cut off heat serve hot with pickle.
