Masala Oats Upma

Ingredients

  • Oats - 1 ½ cup
  • Carrot - 1 [chopped]
  • Green peas - ¼ cup [boiled]
  • Almonds, cashew- 2 tbsp [Roasted]
  • Tomato - 1 [chopped]
  • Onion - 1 [chopped]
  • Green chilli - 1 [chopped]
  • Ginger – ½ tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 spring [chopped]
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Lemon juice – ¼ tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water - 1 cup

Preparation

  • Dry roast oats / oat meal for 2 min.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustar let it crackle then add curry leaves
  • Add onion sauté gently.
  • Then add curry leaves, ginger, green chilli and tomatoes & sauté till soft.
  • Add carrot and green peas, garam masala powder sauté for 1 min.
  • Add 1 cup of water, salt mix well & let it boil.
  • When boiling add oats, mix well, cover lid & cook for 3 min or till moisture out.
  • Finally add lemon juice, chopped coriander leaves and roasted nuts & mix gently then serve hot
