Cuisine Style: Tamil Nadu | Cooking Time: 10 minutes | To Serve: 5 | Type : Breakfast | Take with : Coconut Chutney, kurma, sambar

Ingredients

  • Maravalli kizhangu – 2 cup [wash, peel & cut into cubes]
  • Idli rice – 1 cup
  • Urad dal – ¾ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed.

Preparation

  • Wash & Soak urad dal & idli rice for 4 hours.
  • Grind urad dal, idli rice & maravalli kizhangu separately.
  • In a bowl pour urad dal, idli rice & maravalli kizhangu batter. Then add salt mix well & leave it for fermentation [apr.8 hours].
  • Grease idly plates with gingelly oil. Pour idly batter. Then steam it for 10 min.
  • Then make idli as usual. Then serve hot with chutney or sambar.
