Ingredients

  • Sago [big] – 1 cup
  • Carrot – 2 tbsp [grated]
  • Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated]
  • Onion – 1 [finely chopped]
  • Green chilli -1 [sliced]
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs
  • Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Method

  • Wash and soak sago overnight. Then drain water.
  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered then add Bengal gram, urad dal and cumin seeds.
  • Add onion sauté till soft. Then add green chilli, ginger and curry leaves
  • Add coconut, carrot and turmeric powder sauté gently. Add sago and sprinkle salt mix well.
  • Once sago cooked add lemon juice mix well & cut off heat.
  • Sprinkle coriander leaves then serve hot.
