Direct Method

Ingredients

  • Kuthiraivali rice (Barnyard millet,jhangora) - 1 cup
  • Water - 2 cup
  • Salt - ¼ tsp

Preparation

  • Wash and soak Kuthiraivali rice for 1/2 hour.
  • Bring the water to boil.
  • Add soaked millet to the boiling water. Stir occasionally.
  • Cover lid & cook on medium flame.
  • Check after 10 mins. Serve hot with kara kulambu or sambar.

For Pressure Cooker method

Ingredients

  • Kuthiraivali rice (Barnyard millet) - 1 cup
  • Water – 1 ¼ cup
  • Salt - ¼ tsp

Preparation

  • Dont soak kuthiraivali rice.
  • Wash and pressure cook (with pinch of salt) for 3 whitle.
  • Serve hot with kara kulambu or sambar.
