Ingredients

  • Kollu[Horse gram] – 1 cup
  • Onion – 1[sliced,For Navrathri Dont Add]
  • Green chilli – 1[slit]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Coconut – ¼ cup [grated]
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Preparation

  • Wash & Boil horse gram in a pressure cooker for 5 whistles. Then drain water[you can use it for making rasam].
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add Bengal gram & urad dal.
  • Add onion sauté till soft. Then add green chilli, 2 tbsp coconut and curry leaves.
  • Add boiled horse gram, turmeric & red chilli powder mix well, sauté for 2 min.
  • Add salt & coconut mix well. Then cut off heat & sprinkle coriander leaves mix well.
  • Serve hot with rice or tea.
