Ingredients

  • Fresh Green peas[Pachai pattani in tamil, matar in hindi] – 1 cup
  • Coconut – ¼ cup [Grated]
  • Onion – 1 [sliced]
  • Yellow & red capsicum – ¼ cup [finely chopped, optional]
  • Green chilli – 1 [sliced]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Tumeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander powder – ½ tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – ½ tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Preparation

  • Boil fresh green peas.
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Add onion sauté till soft.
  • Then add green chilli, red, yellow capsicum and curry leaves saute. Then add turmeric & red chillli powder mix well.
  • Add green peas and salt mix well. Then add coconut. Cut off heat & serve hot with rice.
