Ingredients

  • Double beans – 1 cup
  • Green peas – ½ cup
  • Coconut – ½ cup [grated]
  • Dry red chilli - 1 Green chilli – 1 or 2
  • Onion – 1 [chopped,For Navrathri Dont Add]
  • Garlic – 2 cloves [mashed,For Navrathri Dont Add garlic, add ginger, asafetida or cumin seeds]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Dry mango powder – ½ tsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 1 ½ tbsp
  • Water as needed

Preparation

  • Boil double beas & green peas separately.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add urad dal sauté gently.
  • Add green chilli, dry red chilli, curry leaves & asafetida sauté.
  • Add onion & garlic, turmeric powder sauté well.
  • Then add boiled double beans & salt sauté well
  • Add red chilli powder & dry mango powder mix well.
  • Add salt, coconut, & chopped coriander leaves mix well & cut off heat then serve hot with rice.
