Ingredients

  • Capsicum[Red,green]- 2
  • Besan [gram flour, kadalai maavu] – ¼ cup
  • Rice flour – 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
  • Asafetida[Hing]- ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil – ¼ ltr [for frying]

Preparation Method

  • Slit chilli lengthwise then remove seeds. Then cut into stripes.
  • In a bowl add gram flour, rice flour, salt, asafetida, red chilli & turmeric powder mix well.
  • Then add water mix well & make batter without lumps
  • Heat oil in a pan, dip capsicum into the prepared batter, drop it in oil, deep fry till crisp & golden brown both sides on medium hot oil
  • Once its ready remove from oil, drain on absorbent paper & serve hot with tea or coffee.
