Bengal Gram Laddu By

  • Bengal Gram[Kadalai paruppu]- 250 g [¼ kg]
  • Jaggery [vellam]- 200 g
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tbsp
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed


  • Wash bengal gram, Pressure cook it (1 whistle), drain excess water if any and spread in a cotton cloth for drying.
  • Fine grind Bengal gram & jaggery together.
  • Add cardamom powder, ghee with this mixture.
  • Divide them into equal portions, Then make equal size balls[ladoo] out of it.
  • Serve immediately.


  • Soak Bengal gram for 2 to 3 hours before boiling.


  • Instead of Jaggery brown sugar or white sugar can be used.
